BirdDog Version 4.0

BirdDog™ Information Systems is pleased to announce the release of Version 4.0 of Remote Data Retrieval. This newest system, to which you automatically have access when you log into our host site, provides enhanced features that are certain to make you even more productive... such as a more streamlined and intuitive user interface, the ability for end-users to perform ad hoc changes to alarm settings, and layered administration. With layered administration, end-user organizations can assign BirdDog client administrators who, in turn, will be able to add/delete other enterprise users, set each user's rights (from read-only through full editing, including use of Demand Polling), reset user passwords, add/delete Morning Report recipients, and much more.

In addition to the BirdDog Remote Data Retrieval system functional enhancements, we've also deployed new security provisions to further complement our previously implemented use of an HTTPS website to provide full SSL encryption of your sensitive and proprietary information. These enhancements include the use of unique email addresses as User IDs, as well as stronger Password requirements with history restrictions and forced routine changes. As before, with just a single account User ID and Password, your log-in will provide direct access to all BirdDog SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) systems to which you have end-user rights. And as you add or remove systems from your user profile, the single sign-on process will automatically recognize those changes.

BirdDog Security Policy Change Alert

Security Policy Change Alert - For the enhanced security of BirdDog™ Information Systems users, effective November 11, 2013, User IDs will be unique email addresses and account password requirements will be strengthened. New passwords will need to be at least 8 characters in length and contain at least one each of the following characters: uppercase alphabetical; lowercase alphabetical; numeric; and “special” (such as @, &, _, #, etc.). At the appropriate time, you will be prompted during your BirdDog log-in to click on a webpage link that will provide more details and guide you through your password change process.

Coastal Flow Attends 11th Annual Cast for the Cure
Date: 8/24/2012

Coastal Flow attends 11th Annual Cast for the Cure

This year's Cast for the Cure, held this past weekend August 17th 19th, was a great success. With an outstanding turn out of supporters and attendees, the event raised $275,000 for Cystic Fibrosis, a record amount. This was the 11th annual Cast for the Cure, a fishing tournament held in Rockport, Texas, and attended by top sponsors from the oil & gas industry in the Houston area. Since its inception, Cast for the Cure has made $1.7 million towards the research and cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Cast for the Cure has grown from 19 boats and 36 anglers in 1991, to this year's 79 boats and 158 anglers, not to mention friends and family who attended silent auction and other events over the weekend.

Coastal Flow has been committed to raising and donating money to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for years, and has attended Cast for the Cure as a sponsor many times. Additionally, we are currently hosting an online auction, Click for the Cure, and are about to begin a series of educational seminars, Lunch & Learns, both of which donate all proceeds to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Coastal Flow also hosts an annual crawfish boil, Crawin' for the Cure, which raised over $14,000 this past year. With these events combined, and the help of our community and generous sponsors, we have been able to raise $65,000 in the past year for Cystic Fibrosis.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive systems of approximately 30,000 people in the U.S. alone, making it one of the most common life-shortening inherited conditions. Today, thanks to continued foundation-supported research and specialized care, the median age of survival is almost forty years old more than double that of just a generation ago. Because of these dedicated donors, researchers have developed a revolutionary medication, Kalydeco, the first drug in history to treat the basic defect that causes CF ultimately, the first real cure for the disease. All of the money needed to research, test, and continue to produce this type of medication comes from events like Cast for the Cure and the generous donors and sponsors who join in the fight against CF. Coastal Flow is proud to be a part of events like this, and we plan to continue our involvement progressively for years to come.
