In recent years, many customers have found that in certain gas processes which involve atmospheric emissions, such as dehydration, a BTEX analysis of the gas may be needed to comply with environmental regulations. BTEX is an acronym for benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylenes, which are the major aromatic components in the "hexanes plus" fraction of natural gas. The analytical method for a BTEX analysis is exactly the same as an extended gas analysis, but on the lab report, the BTEX components are reported on a separate page.
