Raw electronic gas measurement (EGM) data is typically collected from the flow computer unit each month, delivered to a centralized data management office, and the data is validated and edited for allocation and/or custody transfer purposes. Utilizing wireless communication technologies; landline; satellite; or spread spectrum radio, Birddog's polling software may be scheduled to collect flow data in full accordance with API Chapter 21.1's audit trail requirements and configured for automatic import into Flow-Cal's EGM data management software. Frequently this provides the most affordable and dependable means of collecting flow data for processing, eliminating the need to send field personnel to remote measurement facilities by vehicle.
