BirdDog detects alarm conditions, automatically contacting our customers in the event of an emergency or flow rate change. Alarm messages may be sent via voice or text messages to any cell phones and pagers, as well as sending directly to an e-mail account. If the EGM device is equipped with additional I/O ports, peripheral equipment such as liquid turbine meters, compressors, tank levels and wellhead pressures may be monitored. BirdDog has multiple level alarming options. For less critical operations, BirdDog scans collected data and when upset conditions are identified it sends out an alarm message. For more critical operations (e.g. un-manned production platforms) where an instantaneous cry-out alarm is required, BirdDog utilizes a satellite-based alarming system based on cutting-edge and advanced solutions from AMCi^TM. The BirdDog alarming features may be the most beneficial function of the system since they can effectively reduce downtime and increase profitability.
